The U9510BS Belt Stations have been specifically designed
for the harsh marine weather. The housings and labels have superior
resistance to the elements providing long-lasting service.
The units have a 2-position rocker switch that allows for the following
communication modes:
IC - In this position the microphones are "silent"
and the Push-To-Talk (PTT) is used to allow intercom communication
between positions. This is typically used for extremely high-noise
environments.
RAD - In this position the microphones are "hot,"
allowing for hands-free intercom operation and the Push-To-Talk
(PTT) button enables radio transmission. This is the typical mode
of operation.
Additionally, the Series 9500 Belt Station can be connected to a
portable radio
(via adapter). This enables a user to disconnect from the intercom
system, automatically transfer to the portable, and then board a
second craft (boat, helicopter, etc). The holster for the Series
9500 Belt Stations are durable nylon and provide a rugged package
for multiple securing options during use.
Having keyed connectors with high cycle rates, the units will provide
extended use in the marine environment. Protective caps will also
protect the internal pins from the elements when not in use.
For additional flexibility, a remote Push-To-Talk (PTT) button is
available and can
be mounted in a seperate location, such as the steering wheel or
column.
